Here are some in-progress pictures of a figure kit I'm building. She is Captain Liliana, from the Queen's Blade Rebellion, anime and visual combat books (more info here). And you can find the official info on her character here, in Japanese.

If you're just interested in the final product, she's at the end of this page.
I'll start with some official pictures of Captain Liliana and some of the kit parts. Note that the kit supplies parts for a few different ways to build Liliana. It's either that or they expect you to put together a mutant with two full heads and seven arms, one ending in a pair of hands. Here are some pictures of other builds of two versions, the second being considerably less clothed.
The first step is to clean the pour-gates and flash off the parts (thankfully this kit was cleanly molded with little flash) and dry-fit the parts together. As part of the dry fitting I also installed brass pins in many of the joints. These not only make the joints stronger, but help hold things together temporarily for photos like this. There's still plenty of work left to do, and I didn't bother temporarily attaching any of the decorative bows on her uniform for these pictures. This shows Captain Liliana in her full uniform.
After a break, it's back to work on Liliana. To make painting and assembly easier, I glued her coat together her legs on, and separated her torso into three pieces (with more easily hidden seams) to minimize seam-filling on fully painted and assembled units. The masking on her coat is done with a combination of masking tape and "paint-on" liquid masker. We'll go the same route masking the ruffles on her skirt and elsewhere.
After the first few coats of paint, Liliana is starting to look something like she ought to. She's dry-fitted together again here. I thought an unpainted head looked better for this than nothing but a bare neck sticking up. There's obviously a lot left in both touch-up and painting details, not to mention actual starting painting her head and hair.
More work on Liliana's clothing, and starting to work on her head and the base.
We continue the detail work on Liliana. She's starting to actually look like something now. There's still more work to go, but we cansee progress.
Stripping and repainting the base gave something I much prefer to the previous attempt.
Back to work on Liliana. She's mostly done except for her weapons and second head. Hopefully these pictures don't show up anything drastic that needs to be fixed.
Here's Liliana's second head along with her weapons, starting reasonably down the path for painting.
Liliana looks almost done (except for her second head). Here's some shots to see where I need to touch up before applying the final protective clear coat.
Now we've finally got Liliana finished, in all her glory with a full set of weapons and heads. The full-resolution pictures may be larger than life size on your monitor, as this kit only stands about 8" tall.
